The Fesler USA 1970–1981 Camaro fiberglass dash overlay is a hand-laid, drop-in panel built for the second-gen Camaro's factory dash structure. Drops over the factory metal dash and bolts on in about 30 minutes. Designed to accept the Fesler billet AC vents, A-pillar pads, and your choice of gauge cluster. Important: This panel is not sold upholstered.
It is the customer's responsibility to have this panel upholstered to match their interior. Upholstered panels are planned for a future offering. Professional installation is recommended.
Fitment
- Primary application: 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981 Chevrolet Camaro (second generation). Fits the factory metal dash structure for those model years.
- First-gen Camaro: This dash fits the 1967, 1968, and 1969 Camaro with modification. See the section below.
Gauge compatibility
Not all gauge clusters fit the same opening. Here is what works and what does not with this dash.
AC vents: This dash was designed to accept Fesler billet AC vents, available in the drop-down. Any standard vent will work with minor fitting. Your choice.
Running this dash in a first-gen Camaro
This second-gen dash looks aggressive in a 1969 Camaro. We have sold several. It works.
We posted a photo of it installed in a 69 below. The conversion is not plug-and-play, but builders are doing it and the result is a first-gen interior unlike anything on the road.
To run this dash in a 1967, 1968, or 1969 Camaro you will need to:
- Cut the top of the first-gen factory dash to clear the second-gen overlay profile
- Fabricate and install mounting brackets under the dash to bolt to the brake assembly
