K5 Blazer flush-mount glass is DOT-certified glass sized to bond directly into the factory openings with urethane, deleting the chrome trim and rubber weatherstrip on the windshield and the removable top glass. Fesler builds it for both generations: a full front, side, and rear kit for the 1969-1972 first-gen Blazer, and a windshield plus top side glass program for the 1973-1991 squarebody Blazer.
Blazers are a different glass problem than a car, because half the glass lives in a top that comes off. Here is how each generation works, what you actually get in each kit, and the fitment detail that catches people.
Why does flush-mount glass matter more on a Blazer?
Because of the proportions. A Blazer has an enormous amount of glass relative to its body, and almost all of it sits in the removable top. When every one of those openings is outlined in a stainless trim ring, the truck reads as a wall of chrome rectangles. Delete the trim and the top becomes one continuous dark surface, and the whole vehicle instantly looks a generation newer.
There is a practical side too. The seal between a removable top and a 50 year old gasket is the single most common leak point on these trucks. Every time a top comes off and goes back on, that system gets a little less happy. Bonded urethane glass takes one of those variables off the table.
What fits a 1969-1972 Blazer?
The 1969-72 C-10 Blazer flush-mount kit is the full package: front, sides, and rear glass for the first-gen body, $2,929.
The same glass family serves the 1967-1972 C10 truck cab, which is why you will sometimes see 1967-1972 referenced on this platform. Confirm your body and year combination before ordering, and if you are at all unsure, call us. Glass is non-returnable and a phone call is free.
Glass is North American made using the original float glass process with Pilkington lineage, and side glass comes off OE-style molds with LOF heritage. Laminated safety windshield, tempered rear pieces, OE green hue blocking 99.9 percent of UVA.
What fits a 1973-1991 squarebody Blazer?
The squarebody program is sold by the piece, which is the right way to do it because the tops changed mid-run:
- Front and top rear side glass kit, $2,349, the complete set
- Windshield only, $1,249
- Top driver and passenger side glass, $1,100 for the pair
- Top driver side or passenger side individually, $550 each
This covers the 1973-1975 full Blazer top and the 1976-1988 half top, and many builders run it through 1991. The kit is the windshield and the two top side glass pieces, and those pieces are in stock and shipping rather than on pre-order.
Buying by the piece matters more here than on any other platform we sell, because a lot of Blazers arrive with one cracked side and everything else fine. You do not have to buy a full kit to fix one pane.
Full top or half top, and why it changes what you order
The 1973-1975 trucks used a full-length removable top that ran all the way to the windshield. From 1976 on, GM went to a half top that starts behind the front seats, leaving a fixed roof over the cab. That means the glass in front of the top line is body glass on a half top and top glass on a full top.
Practical version: identify whether your top starts at the windshield or behind the front seats before you order, and count your pieces. If you are not sure, take a photo from the side and send it to us.
Does it require sanding or body work?
Our glass does not require sanding to fit. That is worth saying plainly because so many flush glass listings include the phrase some sanding may be required, which is what happens when a seller has an overseas factory make stock glass a few inches bigger all the way around and calls it flush mount. We prototype, mold, test fit, manufacture, and test fit again on three separate vehicles.
The exception is reproduction bodies. If you are building on a Dynacorn or similar aftermarket shell, the openings vary and the glass may need fitting work. That is your call and your labor, and you should decide whether you are willing to do it before you order. Glass is non-returnable, and you should test fit within 60 days of receipt.
Who installs it?
A certified auto glass technician. We do not endorse do-it-yourself installation on any flush-mount product.
The adhesive is the thing to get right. Butyl tape holds about 60 pounds per square inch. Professional urethane holds 600 or more. On a bonded windshield the glass is structural, so this is a safety item, not a preference. Do not use butyl.
Finding someone willing to take the job is its own project, and we wrote a guide for exactly that: who actually installs flush-mount glass and what it costs.
How does it ship?
Estimated ship time is 10 to 15 business days from order date. Every glass order is built into custom freight packaging and scheduled with the carrier, so it moves LTL truck freight and a commercial delivery address is strongly recommended. International freight including Canada and Mexico is available.
Billing requires a signed credit card authorization form, and we do not charge your card until the glass is ready to ship. Tracking is emailed once the carrier picks up. Allow up to 10 days after payment before asking for updates, and we will reach out if there is a delay. Hard deadline for a show? Contact us before ordering so we can confirm timing honestly.
What else should you do while the glass is out?
A Blazer with the top off and the windshield out is as open as it will ever be. This is the moment for sound deadening on the roof skin and the rear wheel tubs, which does more for a Blazer than almost any other vehicle we work on because of how much bare metal is exposed to the cabin. Our sound deadening guide covers where it goes.
Squarebody builders should also look at Squarebody door panels, the Squarebody headliner, and the rest of the squarebody lineup. First-gen builders, the 1967-72 Chevy truck and Blazer collection has the interior pieces that pair with this glass.
Quick answers
Does the 1973-91 kit include rear glass? The kit is the windshield and the two top side glass pieces. Check your specific configuration with us if you need the rear.
Can I buy just one side? Yes. Driver or passenger side individually, $550 each.
Is it DOT certified and street legal? Yes. Laminated safety windshield, tempered rear pieces, built to FMVSS 205.
Will the top still come off? Yes. Bonding the glass to the top does not change how the top mounts to the body.
Do I need trim or weatherstrip? No. Neither is required. Frit band, primer, and urethane do the work.
Are adhesives included? No. Primer, urethane, and tools come from your installer.
What if it does not fit out of the crate? On an original body it should. On a reproduction shell you may need body work, which is why we tell people to decide before ordering. Test fit within 60 days.
