Dakota Digital’s New RTX Gauges for GM OBS Trucks

If you own a GMT400 Chevy or GMC, you just got a very good reason to refresh your dash. Dakota Digital has released RTX instruments for late OBS round-dash trucks and SUVs, with added coverage for early 90s models. RTX keeps the stock look and adds a modern message center, LED backlighting, and flexible wiring that works with factory engines or common swaps.

What’s new for OBS fitment

  • 1995 to 1998 C/K pickups and 1995 to 2000 SUV and HD: direct-fit RTX kit RTX-95C-PU-X. Face styling mirrors the OEM cluster, so it looks factory until the lighting and message center wake up.
  • 1992 to 1994 Chevy/GMC trucks and SUVs: direct-fit RTX kit RTX-92C-PU-X with year-specific layout and harnessing.

Why RTX over other series

RTX is for builders who want a stock-style face with modern internals. You get analog needles, a hidden full-color TFT message center, user-configurable lighting, and a clean install that preserves the OEM vibe.

Prefer a more custom look? HDX and VHX remain great choices for OBS trucks. Both series cover 1988 to 1994 and 1995 to 1998 with direct-fit six-gauge systems and sender packs.

Engine swaps, BIM modules, and clean wiring

Running an LS or modern EFI setup? Add a Dakota Digital BIM module to feed live ECU data to the cluster over OBD-II or CAN. That reduces extra sensors and keeps the bay tidy. There are BIM options for GM ECUs, Holley, FiTech, and more.

FAQ

What is the biggest visual difference with RTX on an OBS?

The face layout and indicators look like a factory cluster, while the needles, lighting, and hidden TFT message center are modern. It reads OEM by day and comes alive at night.

Will RTX work with my LS swap without extra senders?

Yes. A compatible BIM module can read ECU data over OBD-II or CAN. It simplifies wiring and reduces additional sensors.

Is there a warranty?

Full instrument systems like RTX include a limited lifetime warranty from Dakota Digital. See the product documentation for details.
