Fesler Flush-Mount DOT glass gives first-gen hardtop Chevelles a modern trim-delete look with OE-level fit. Each piece is prototype-built, molded, test-fit, manufactured, and test-fit again on multiple vehicles to deliver a clean, even gap and a bonded, weather-tight install.

NO SANDING REQUIRED TO FIT. Some brands simply make the glass larger and expect you to sand. Fesler prototypes, molds, test-fits, manufactures, and test-fits again so your glass fits as delivered. Remember: you get what you pay for.

Polycarbonate (“plastic”) windshields

  • Not DOT-approved for public roads — not street legal for windshields.
  • Prone to scratching, hazing, yellowing, heat distortion; wipers can mar the surface.
  • Okay for track/off-road/display where permitted, but not recommended for street builds.
  • Potential insurance/safety issues in a collision.

Laminated automotive glass (Fesler)

  • DOT-approved laminated windshield for legal street use; tempered rear glass.
  • Safety & clarity: resists penetration; remains intact under impact; superior day/night visibility.

Fitment

  • Application: 1966–1967 Chevelle 2-door hardtop.
  • Will not fit: 2-door sedan, convertible, or El Camino.
  • Also compatible: 1966–1967 Pontiac GTO (2-door hardtop).

Painted-car examples: The maroon and blue Chevelles shown were finished cars with no added body work for the glass. If your shell has prior metal work or non-OE geometry, your installer may need to address the opening for a perfect result. We recommend test-fitting during the bodywork stage.

What is flush-mount glass?

A precisely sized glass bonds to the body with a FRIT band, primer, and automotive urethane, eliminating exterior trim and rubber weatherstrip. The correct size/shape and bonding method together produce an OE-like seat with no body modifications on properly prepared shells.

  • Test-fit policy: Test fit within 60 days of receipt to identify any vehicle issues requiring body work. Glass is non-returnable.

Typically no on correctly prepared OE shells. Reproduction bodies may need metal work to meet proper glass geometry.

Is exterior trim required?
No. The bonded FRIT/urethane system provides the finished perimeter. Keep the reveal clean and uniform for best appearance.

Is this heated or sensor glass?
Classic construction: laminated windshield and tempered rear. Transfer OE accessories as applicable to your build.
